At 11 knots, the M/V Albula has a range of approximately 6,500 nautical miles with a 20 per cent reserve. She has guest accommodation for 12, crew accommodation for 14 and life-saving equipment for 32 people, including crew.
The mission of the Fisheries Research Foundation is to support fisheries and marine science research that has the potential to have a broad positive impact on the marine environment as well as on the public-at-large.
The M/V Albula is a 64-metre (210 feet) expedition style motor yacht. Built in Denmark in 2006 by Royal Denship A/S, she is widely considered one of the finest expedition yachts ever built.
We invite applications from Principal Investigators who are affiliated with top-tier fisheries/marine science research institutions. We prefer to receive applications from scientists/institutions whose research projects have a link to a graduate academic programme in fisheries/marine science or which would include graduate students among the researchers aboard the boat.
Set out the full details of your proposed research project, including goals, impact, and scope.
You will be responsible for the acquisition of permits, licenses or other approvals.
We will consider interest and applications from Principal Investigators seeking support.
Once a proposal is reviewed and approved, we will send the proposal for review.
